The legal frame that regulates all concerning to au pairs, is the “European Agreement on Au Pair Placement” of the Council of Europe signed by several states members on November 1969. The Treaty was effective on May 30th 1971. Other States members signed/ratified it after that date. All information on the Au Pair placement can be seen on the following link; European Council
